Priority Workplan Update

The Workplan is an annual policy making document established by majority vote of the City Council for purposes of providing policy direction for implementation by the City Manager, effective July 1st of each FY period. Once adopted, the City Manager directs all City resources and staffing toward adopted policy areas/items. Periodic amendments are made following adoption throughout the FY period. The Workplan consists of four (4) essential components, as follows:
  • Mission Statement
  • Major Policy Goals (Added March 29, 2013)
  • Strategic Policy Initiatives (12)
  • Policy Areas/Items (A total of 191 adopted policy items as of September 1, 2014)

On June 17, 2015, the City Council held a Study Session under a Special City Council Meeting format for a review of the proposed FY 2015-17 City Council Priority Workplan. The City Council conducted a review of all existing and recommended policy items, and solicited input from the public.

All of the City Council Recommended Policy Items have been incorporated into the Final Workplan for FY 2015-17. The Workplan Update process was successfully conducted by the City Council in accordance with the following timeline, as follows:

June 17, 2015 - Study Session:Review and Update FY 2015-17 WORKPLAN
July 6, 2015 - FINAL FY 2015-17 WORKPLAN ADOPTION (Item # 15-0295 on July 6th City Council Agenda)

Following City Council review and discussion at the Study Session on June 17, 2015, the City Manager was directed to prepare the Final FY 2015-17 Workplan for final adoption by the City Council at the next regular City Council meeting scheduled for July 6, 2015 on the Consent Calendar. All recommended policy items were affirmed by minute action vote on June 17, 2015, and the City Manager directed to incorporate into the final document for City Council adoption on July 6, 2015.
